One of the most popular types of rugs produced in the Caucasus, known as Kazak. It is quite likely that the basic pattern element outlined in white is again a water basin of a formal garden. The balance of the field is served with single rows of eight petalled rosettes, adjacent to the inside border. The rosettes enclosed in the border cartouches echo those of the field.
