From sourcing and sizing to shipping and returns — everything our clients ask before bringing a rug home.

Authenticity & Craftsmanship

What makes our rugs different from mass-produced pieces found online or in big chain stores?

Nearly every rug in our collection is hand-knotted — a craft that takes months per piece and produces rugs built to last generations, not years. That level of quality and durability simply isn't found in mass-produced, machine-made rugs sold online or in big chain stores. Each piece is hand-inspected for construction, dye consistency, and finishing before it earns a place in our gallery.

What's the difference between hand-knotted and hand-tufted?

Hand-knotted rugs are woven knot-by-knot on a loom, often taking months to complete — these are our most durable and valuable pieces. Hand-tufted rugs are made by punching yarn through a fabric backing with a tufting gun, faster to produce and typically more affordable. Each listing states which technique was used.

What is "Serapi Couture"?

Serapi Couture marks our most exceptional pieces — rugs we consider true works of art, selected for their rarity, artistry, or historical significance. Any rug in our collection can carry the Couture distinction, regardless of style.

Are your rugs certified?

Every rug we carry is hand-knotted or hand-tufted by artisans whose craftsmanship is sought after internationally — the kind of skill mass production isn't built to replicate. Where GoodWeave certification is available for a piece's country of origin, you'll find the mark on that product's page.

Where do your rugs come from?

Our collection is sourced from master weaving traditions across Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Turkey, each piece reflecting the techniques and motifs of its origin.

Do you provide appraisal certificates?

Yes — we offer appraisal certificates for insurance purposes or to support a future trade-in. Reach out to our team to arrange one for a piece you own.
