We recommend a professional cleaning every three to five years. Our specialists hand-wash every rug to suit its fiber, dye, and condition, using techniques safe for delicate materials like silk, cashmere, and jute, and protecting the foundation the rug is built on. Some clients don't find their rug — they design it. Working from hundreds of patterns or an idea you bring us, we hand-select materials from Tibetan and New Zealand wool to pure silk, and build a piece to your size, palette, and story. Most custom commissions arrive in about three months.

How long does cleaning or repair typically take?
Most cleanings are complete within one to two weeks. Repair and restoration timelines depend on the work involved — we'll give you an estimate once we've inspected the piece.
Do you offer pickup and delivery?
Yes — we arrange pickup and delivery for rugs 8'×10' and larger in the Los Gatos area. Certain restrictions apply, so reach out and we'll confirm for your location.
Is there a fee for moving heavy furniture?
Yes. Our team will move ordinary furniture as part of a standard pickup or delivery. Heavier pieces — sectionals, armoires, bed frames, stone or solid wood tables — take considerably more time and may carry an additional fee. Let us know what's in the room when you schedule, and we'll confirm any cost with you before we arrive.
How often should a rug be professionally cleaned?
Every three to five years for most homes. Rugs in high-traffic rooms, or homes with pets or allergy sufferers, benefit from cleaning at the shorter end of that range. Between washes, regular vacuuming and rotating the rug will slow how quickly grit works into the foundation.
What happens if my rug needs more extensive repair than expected?
We inspect every piece before work begins and contact you with a revised estimate before doing anything beyond what you approved. Nothing proceeds without your sign-off.
Is padding included or a separate purchase?
Padding is a separate purchase. We cut every pad to size for your specific rug and floor type, so pricing depends on the dimensions.
How is a custom rug priced?
Pricing depends on size, materials, and knot density. We produce a rendering and a firm quote before production starts, so you know exactly what you're committing to.
