Persian Garden CARPET

Representing one of the most celebrated themes in Persian weaving, the Garden Carpet—or Chahar Bagh ("four-part garden")—translates the layout of a classical Persian royal garden into textile art. This design traditionally shows water channels, garden beds, pavilions, trees, and birds arranged in a structured, aerial-view composition meant to symbolize paradise, order, and harmony.

Our Persian Garden Classic rug is a modern hand-knotted interpretation woven in northern Afghanistan by master artisans who continue the weaving traditions of old Kurdish and Kerman workshops. Using high-mountain wool sourced from sheep raised at elevations above 1,000 meters, the pile is exceptionally durable, naturally lustrous, and resilient under everyday use. This type of wool—famed for its long fibers and natural lanolin content—has historically been preferred for premium Persian-style carpets because of its ability to take dyes richly and age beautifully.

The design reflects the essence of the original 18th-century Garden Carpets: divided garden plots, flowing water channels, stylized trees, and botanical motifs arranged in symmetrical pathways. While the original palace carpets were monumental in scale, this contemporary piece adapts the classical layout into a refined, livable decorative format without losing the charm of the historic pattern.
